Before a team arrives on site: a practical checklist
Agree access, scope, tools and site contacts before confirming a start date.

Confirm the work package
A useful brief states the expected result, boundaries of the task and work excluded. For a line upgrade, say whether the team handles removal, installation, testing or only one phase. Identify who accepts completed work and records open points.
Check access and work area readiness
Before specialists arrive, confirm entry hours, passes, unloading and access to equipment. Name the person responsible for induction and any permits. If machinery needs to be isolated, allow time for it in the schedule.
Agree equipment and safety
Write down which party provides tools, lifting equipment, materials and protective gear. Required qualifications and training should match the actual tasks. A date and headcount alone are not enough to start safely.
Set a decision route
Additional repairs or a change in sequence may arise on site. Name the technical contact and the person who can approve changes to scope, timing or cost. Record completed work and the handover to the next team.
